Culture and the Arts

Allied Arts Foundation - an outright grant to support the Allied Arts 2005 Annual Campaign.

Blue Sage Center for the Arts – an outright grant to support the renovations of the Old First National Bank Building in Paonia, to provide a new lobby area and gallery; 2 handicapped accessible restrooms; and additional classroom space for the community arts center.

Cimarron Players, Inc. – an outright grant to update electrical systems to bring the building up to code; build a partition wall; add hand rails and carpeting; construct access doors; build a permanent stage; and to purchase a sound system and additional lighting.

Enid Literacy Council, Inc. – an outright grant to help provide new items, including a projector and accessories, laminator and materials, business cards and brochures and 4 quarterly newsletters to enhance local fundraising efforts.

Historic Fort Reno, Inc. – a challenge grant to help finance the restoration of the 1876 Officer’s Quarters.

Houston Symphony Society – an outright grant to support the Education and Outreach Programs.

Lensic Performing Arts Center Corporation – a challenge grant to help provide funds for general operations.

Library Endowment Trust – a challenge grant to help support the completion of the interior of the new library building.

Offshore Rig Museum, Inc. – a challenge grant to help provide new carpeting for the second floor of the museum where the new Pioneer Hall of Fame room, the Pioneer Exhibit and other exhibits will be located.

OK Mozart, Inc. – an outright grant to underwrite a portion of the artistic and production costs of presenting the Family Concert, with the world premiere of “Mozart’s Magnificent Voyage” and educational workshops being made available to music students from all of Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Aquarium Foundation – a challenge grant to help with the construction of the Kerr Foundation Stingray Touch Tank.

Oklahoma Historical Society – a challenge grant to help complete exhibit galleries in the new Oklahoma History Center.

Plaza District Association - an outright grant to identify, purchase and install public amenities, such as benches, tables, trash cans, bike racks, water fountains, etc. in the Plaza District along the wide plazas and sidewalks from Blackwelder to west of Indiana.

Rolling Hills Wildlife Museum Foundation – an outright grant to help complete the capital campaign goals.

Roswell Artist-in-Residence Foundation, Inc. – a challenge grant to help finance the 2004 RAiR Program for summer 2004, as well as two performances and four workshops during the year and mailings for art openings at the museums and local art contests.

Santa Fe Children’s Museum, Inc. – a challenge grant to help finance the Comprehensive Participatory Arts Program.

Summerstock Productions, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund the royalties for 2 summer productions at $3,580 each.

Tulsa Ballet Theatre, Inc. – a challenge grant to provide support for the production related expenses necessary for the staging of Tulsa Ballet’s fall trilogy, “Essential Elements”, featuring world known choreographers: Val Caniparoli, Nacho Duato and Stanton Welch.

Tulsa Opera, Inc. - an outright grant to help support the Education and Outreach Programming.

William Fremont Harn Gardens – an outright grant to provide funding to repair and restore the historic one-room schoolhouse that houses educational programming for over 15,000 school children annually.

Education

Council on Foundations - an outright grant to support the programs of Council on Foundations.

IWF Leadership Foundation:

  • An outright grant to support the Endowment Campaign.
  • An outright grant to help shape program extensions which will benefit women on both the domestic and international levels.

Association of Fundraising Professionals Eastern Oklahoma Chapter – an outright grant to help support AFP’s spring 2006 educational conference, which will offer educational seminars on various aspects of fundraising and donor management to professional and community volunteers in areas of Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas.

The Aurora Learning Community Association – an outright grant to help develop a model online school community to support school districts in having a systemic impact on curriculum and to provide salaries for ALCA’s Administrative Assistant, Graphics Specialist and those who provide “writing services”.

Bishop McGuinness High School – a challenge grant to help renovate, expand and modernize the 50-year old main building and adjacent buildings.

Boley Public School Foundation for Academic Excellence – an outright to help support Boley Public Schools.

HawkWatch International, Inc. – a challenge grant to help support the environmental education programs at raptor-migration study sites in New Mexico and Texas.

Heritage Hall – a challenge grant to help provide funding for the completion of the middle school.

Harding Charter Preparatory High School – a challenge grant to help renovate one dedicated science and chemistry laboratory and three dual classrooms and laboratories for life science and physics activities.

Jubilee Enterprise of Greater Washington, Inc. – an outright grant to support A.S.P., a free after school program that provides tutoring and mentoring for low-income children in the Washington, DC area.

Land Legacy, Inc. – an outright grant to support the Farm and Ranch Preservation Institute.

McCall’s Chapel School, Inc. – an outright grant for renovation of the sidewalk system on the main campus.

Michael 4 Safety Fund – an outright grant to support print costs of activity books, teachers’ curriculum, pamphlets, posters, CDs and to purchase one laptop computer.

National Public Radio Foundation - an outright grant to provide support for the NPR Endowment Fund for Excellence.

No-Till on The Plains, Inc. – an outright grant to provide funding for a project to educate young people, teachers and the agricultural community about the benefits of food products through a no-till cropping system that preserves the environment and conserves resources.

Oklahoma City University - an outright grant to support the Jim Wade Stadium Project by being a “Seat Sponsor”.

Oklahoma Heritage Association – an outright grant to help support the cost of “Mr. Water”, the book on the life of Robert S. Kerr, Jr. by Bob Burke and Ronn Cupp.

Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics - an outright grant to provide funding over a three year period for a scholar, to be known as the Kerr Investigative Research Scholar, to participate in a year long Investigative Research program.

Oklahoma State University Foundation:

  • An outright grant to deliver an annual leadership program oriented toward students and women in the State of Oklahoma.
  • An outright grant to help support an Endowed Professorship in Leadership in the College of Business Administration.

Rocky Mountain Wildlife Conservation Center – a challenge grant to help finance the expansion of the RMWCC Education Program.

Rogers State University Foundation, Inc. – a challenge grant to purchase important instructional equipment for the RSU Nursing Education and Paramedic Programs.

St. Gregory’s University – a challenge grant to purchase costumes, flooring, equipment and provide scholarships for the St. Gregory’s University Dance Program.

Terry Neese Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence, Inc. – a challenge grant to help provide operating funds for OKC area women and minority small business owners with business education, training, support, access to capital sources and related services.

University of Central Oklahoma Foundation – a challenge grant to fund a new program combining classroom instruction and internships with the needs of central Oklahoma non-profit agencies.

The University of Oklahoma Foundation:

  • An outright grant to provide opportunities for students, especially those from Oklahoma, for study and research abroad in non-western countries.
  • An outright grant to help create a Communications Center to be used in teaching communications skills to OU Athletes.
  • An outright grant to support N.E.W. Leadership’s Summer Institute, a program designed to educate, inspire and empower undergraduate women form Oklahoma to consider careers in politics and public service.
  • An outright grant to underwrite two 8-month book symposiums led by Dr. J. Rufus Fears at The Full Circle Book Store.

Western Village Academy Inc. - a challenge grant to assist with the start-up of a new Technology Center at Western Village Academy.

Youth at Heart – an outright grant to purchase art/crafts supplies and table games for Youth at Heart’s after-school programs.

Health

American Lung Association of Oklahoma, Inc. – an outright grant to support the implementation of the Open Airways Program, a bi-lingual elementary school-based curriculum that provides basic asthma education and management skills.

Arthritis Foundation, Eastern Oklahoma Chapter – an outright grant to help support the Arthritis Foundation’s ongoing public education efforts.

A Chance to Change Foundation – a challenge grant to finance phone and computer equipment for support counseling and business office staff.

Children’s Medical Research Institute, Inc. – a challenge grant to provide funding for CMRI’s National Excellence Campaign in pediatric Type 2 Diabetes research.

India Shriners – a challenge grant to purchase a new one ton hospital transportation van.

The Jimmie Heuga Center – an outright grant to conduct a 5-day CAN DO Program for people and families living with the challenges of multiple sclerosis in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation – a challenge grant to purchase a vehicle for the Eye Bank to transport technicians and equipment to numerous hospitals and locations for eye tissue retrievals to be used in transplants to restore sight.

Oklahoma Blood Institute – a challenge grant to help purchase a new bloodmobile to service the Oklahoma City area.

Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation - a challenge grant to establish the Lou C. Kerr Endowed Chair in Biomedical Research.

Regional Aids Intercommunity Network of Oklahoma – a challenge grant to provide support for the Western Oklahoma Volunteer Teams along with associated costs.

Human Services

Area Youth Shelter, Inc. – a challenge grant to help support the construction of a anew facility.

Butterfield Youth Services, Inc. – an outright grant to help build the New West Ranch children’s residential treatment home.

Centers for Youth and Families, Inc. – a challenge grant to help finance renovations to the residential facilities for seriously emotionally and/or behaviorally disturbed children and adolescents and to help with additional funds for this project.

The Christmas Connection – an outright grant to support the program “Christmas Shopping Days”, providing families with food, toys, clothing and much needed items at holiday time.

City Care, Inc. – an outright grant to benefit the Whiz Kids Tutoring and Mentoring Program, specifically to hire a part-time Whiz Kids Site Director.

City Rescue Mission – an outright grant to help purchase 4 commercial washing machines, one commercial dryer and one year’s worth of sheets, towels and other linens.

Eagle Ridge Institute – a challenge grant to help fund the construction of the Shiloh Camp/Eagle Ridge Institute Youth Retreat Center.

FreeWay Foundation – a challenge grant to increase and fund existing programs.

Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Inc. – an outright grant for funds to stabilize the budget despite federal funding cutbacks and to improve services available to needy people in Oklahoma.

The Margaret Hudson Program, Inc. – a challenge grant to help provide costs associated with services provided to pregnant and parenting teens and their babies through the “Too Young for Two” program.

National Public Radio Foundation – an outright grant to help support the programs of NPR at the President’s Council level.

New Mexico Suicide Intervention – a challenge grant to provide operating expenses associated with the local youth suicide prevention initiatives.

OKC Compassion, Inc. – an outright grant to help support Summer Kids Club.

Oklahoma Special Olympics, Inc. – an outright grant to provide funding for roof repair of the Special Olympics facility.

Reliant Living Centers Endowment Fund – an outright grant to provide funding for the basic necessities for clients to maintain their quality of life.

The Salvation Army-Oklahoma City Area Command – an outright grant to provide disaster relief from Hurricane Katrina to be used in the Oklahoma City area.

Texas Council on Family Violence d/b/a National Domestic Violence Hotline – a challenge grant to underwrite Hotline Advocate hours.

Vinita Sports Complex Charitable Foundation – a challenge grant to help purchase bleachers for the sports complex.

Wheatland Resource Conservation & Development Association - an outright grant to help build a statue honoring the Oklahoma Civilian Conservation Corps in the Red River Journey Park on the grounds of the new Oklahoma Historical Society building just north of the Governor’s Mansion.
